PAM Tissue reparation: let’s speed it up!

Dates

December 16 - 17, 2021

Tissue repair is a dynamic and complex restorative cell proliferation and tissue regeneration response stimulated in order to overcome acute toxicity and recover organ/tissue structure and function. During this module, we will briefly review the cells involved in tissue repair, their signaling and proliferation mechanisms and the function of the extracellular matrix and the actors and script for the three acts of the tissue repair drama.

This course is taught by both a doctor and an osteopath. Based on this theoretical framework, we will discuss the standard and conventional approach to the most common musculoskeletal injuries, as well as the impact of other biopsychosocial factors that influence the reparation or regeneration of injured tissue (sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, stress, manual therapy,…).

As an osteopath with almost 20 years of experience, Frank Buyl is always looking for the cause, the origin of the problem. The influence of nutrition, stress, psychological wrong patterns on the body is enormous, both in a positive and negative way. Add this to the mechanical stress of somatic dysfunctions in the body and you can build a holistic treatment plan.

Frank works in the Netherlands and in Belgium, has been teaching physiotherapists and doctors at the International Academy of Osteopathy, was active as osteopath in the premier League (West Ham FC) and is now osteopathic consultant at Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Kathleen Van Aken has been working as a classical general practitioner for more than 20 years. Out of great frustration with today’s mainly symptomatic and pharmaceutically-oriented medicine, she went in search of broader angles to help patients further.

This is how she ended up in orthomolecular nutrition, orthomolecular health theory and evolutionary health theory. After that she completed the 2 year training of clinical psycho-neuro-immunology at Natura Foundation, she focused on the training program of Functional Medicine at the Institute for Functional Medicine.
